I helped a London immigration law firm improve its local search visibility and establish a consistent source of organic enquiries through Local SEO, on-page optimisation and content strategy.
Project Overview
| Client | London-based immigration law firm |
| Engagement | Local SEO |
| Focus | Improve local search visibility and attract qualified organic enquiries |
| Outcome | Organic clicks increased from 21 to 271, impressions grew from 353 to 7,060, and the firm began receiving 5-10 organic enquiries per month |
The Challenge
The firm had been operating its website for over three years but struggled to gain traction in organic search.
Despite offering specialist immigration legal services, the website had low visibility for valuable local searches and generated very little traffic from Google.
After doing an SEO audit, I identified several issues limiting their performance:
- The Google Business Profile used a broad Law Firm category instead of Immigration Lawyer, reducing local relevance.
- Important service and location searches had no dedicated landing pages.
- Thin and duplicate blog content diluted the site’s overall quality.
- The homepage wasn’t well optimised for the firm’s primary services or local search intent.
- There was no structured content strategy to build topical authority around immigration law.
My Approach
Improved Local Relevance
Updated the Google Business Profile’s primary category from Law Firm to Immigration Lawyer, aligning it more closely with the firm’s specialist service and improving local relevance.
Built high-quality local citations to strengthen the firm’s local authority and improve business information consistency across the web.
Created & Optimised Service Pages
Created dedicated landing pages for high-intent immigration services, including Immigration Solicitors London, Spouse Visa Solicitors, Skilled Worker Visa Solicitors, and British Citizenship Solicitors.
This improved the site’s relevance for valuable searches while giving prospective clients dedicated pages for the services they needed.
Improved the home and about page copy to better communicate the firm’s expertise while strengthening its relevance for priority keywords.
Improved Site Quality
Removed thin and duplicate blog content that offered little value, helping improve the overall quality and focus of the website.
Built Topical Authority
Developed a content strategy around the questions and topics prospective immigration clients were actively searching for, creating a roadmap for long-term organic growth.
The Results

Within three months of implementing the strategy:
- Organic clicks increased from 21 to 271
- Organic impressions grew from 353 to over 7,000
- The website gained significantly more visibility for relevant immigration-related searches across London.
- The firm began receiving 5-10 organic enquiries per month through Google Search.
Key Takeaways
This project demonstrates that effective Local SEO extends beyond optimising a Google Business Profile.
By improving local relevance, strengthening the website’s content, and building topical authority, the firm’s website evolved from an underperforming asset into a reliable channel for attracting prospective clients through organic search.
